Self-aligning roller bearing

Spherical roller bearing is a widely used rolling bearing:

Structural characteristics

Double row rollers: Spherical roller bearings have two symmetrical drum shaped rollers, which are in line contact with the raceway. This design allows the bearing to withstand large radial loads.

Self centering performance: The inner ring of the bearing has a spherical raceway, and the outer ring raceway is spherical in shape, which can adapt to the angle error and different concentricity between the shaft and the bearing seat, allowing the inner ring to have a certain inclination towards the outer ring. The self centering angle is generally 1.5 ° -3 °.

Working principle

When the shaft bends or installation errors cause the shaft to be misaligned with the bearing seat, the inner and outer rings of the self-aligning roller bearing can tilt relative to each other, allowing the rollers to automatically adjust their position in the raceway and maintain good contact, thereby ensuring the normal operation of the bearing and avoiding premature damage due to local stress concentration.

Performance advantages

High bearing capacity: The double row roller structure enables it to withstand large radial loads and also withstand certain axial loads, making it suitable for heavy-duty conditions.

Good centering performance: It can effectively compensate for shaft deflection and installation errors, reduce additional stress caused by bearing misalignment, and improve the service life and reliability of bearings.

Smooth operation: The linear contact between the rollers and the raceway, as well as good centering performance, result in minimal vibration and noise during the operation of the bearing, ensuring smooth operation.

application area

Metallurgical industry: equipment such as rolling mills and continuous casting machines generate significant impact loads and vibrations during operation. The high load-bearing capacity and good self-aligning performance of self-aligning roller bearings can adapt to these harsh working conditions and ensure stable operation of the equipment.

Mining machinery: such as crushers, ball mills, etc., need to withstand huge ore impact forces and loads. Spherical roller bearings can withstand these heavy loads and adapt to a certain degree of misalignment that may occur during equipment operation, extending the maintenance cycle of the equipment.

Wind power generation: The main shaft bearings of wind turbines usually use self-aligning roller bearings, which can withstand the huge weight and complex loads of the wind turbine, while adapting to the deflection of the wind turbine in different wind directions and speeds, ensuring the reliable operation of the wind turbine.

Paper making machinery: Components such as drying cylinders and calenders of paper machines require high-precision and smooth operation. Self aligning roller bearings can compensate for small deviations during equipment installation and operation while bearing large radial loads, ensuring the quality of paper.
